Hi, I’m Julie
With over 40 years of experience in finance, I’ve worked across various industries—from manufacturing and logistics to pest control, commercial cleaning, franchising, and software.
I thrive on a challenge, and there’s nothing I enjoy more than bringing order to the chaos that bookkeeping can sometimes be!
Throughout my career, I’ve mentored team members and helped businesses transition from traditional server-based systems to modern, cloud-based software solutions.
For the last decade, I worked as a Finance Manager, where I ran finance departments both solo and as part of a team. This hands-on experience gave me deep insight into bank reconciliations, credit control, suppliers, customers, VAT returns, HMRC compliance (PAYE, NI, Pensions), and payroll.
In 2020, like many others, I found myself furloughed during lockdown. With time on my hands and years of experience under my belt, I decided to formally qualify in bookkeeping. And so, Blu Bookkeeping was born!
The name *Blu* comes from my late Dad, who always called me Blu (a little different from the usual family nickname of Ju!). It felt like the perfect fit for my new business.
